Consumers – SBG6580: Setting up a VPN passthrough

In order to connect to a VPN from a VPN client connected to SBG6580, VPN traffic must be allowed to pass through SBG6580 in order to establish a VPN connection. This document provides instructions on how to allow PPTP VPN or IPsec VPN traffic to pass through SBG6580 to the VPN client.

To configure VPN pass

  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address box.

    note: By default, the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

  2. Enter the administrator in user name field.
  3. Insert Motorola into a file password field.
  4. Click the login button. The condition Contact The page appears.

  5. Click the advanced link at the top of the screen. The advanced Options The page appears.
  6. On the Advanced Options page, check PPTP crossing or IPsec transit (Depending on the type of VPN that will be used).
  7. Click the Apply button to save changes. SBG6580 is now configured to pass VPN traffic to the VPN client.

    note: No restart is required for this setting to take effect.
