How to setup OpenVPN on Kali Linux

How to manually connect PureVPN on Kali Linux.
- OpenVPN configuration files can be obtained by clicking here. Use your favorite browser to download the ovpn zip file.
- You will get a prompt asking what to do with the ZIP archive, select Save file and click OK. It must be downloaded to your Downloads directory.
- Go to the Downloads directory, right-click on the ZIP archive and select Extract Here to extract the files.
- Now go to the menu option and search and open Terminal Emulator
- Now you need to install OpenVPN packages. Type the following commands one by one:

- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn
- sudo apt-get install network-manager-network-manager-gnome network-manager-openvpn-gnome
- Select the following options:

- Click on Ethernet connection
- Go to VPN Connections
- Select Add VPN Connection…
- Select Import a saved VPN configuration option. Click the Create button.
- Go to the Downloads directory, and select the folder containing the OpenVPN files, such as the new OpenVPN files. Select the desired .ovpn file. Click the Open button.
- Now enter the details as mentioned below:
Enter connection name: PureVPN (Here we use PureVPN, you can change it with any other name)

- Select the type: Password from the dropdown list
- Enter your PureVPN credentials. Here’s how to find your VPN credentials.
- Click the folder icon from the Certificates folder and add the ca.crt.crt file.
- Click Save
- Now go to the Ethernet network connections option and under VPN connections, click/check the newly created PureVPN connection to activate the VPN.
- You are now connected to PureVPN!
