The aim of this article is to guide you through the installation, use, and option of uninstalling AnyConnect VPN Client v4.9.x on your Ubuntu desktop.
This article only applies to RV34x series routers, not Enterprise products.

AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is a modular endpoint software product. It not only provides VPN access through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) version 2 of Internet Key Exchange (IKEv2) but also offers enhanced security through several built-in modules.
Follow the steps in this article to install Cisco AnyConnect VPN Mobility Client on your Ubuntu desktop. In this article, Ubuntu version 20.04 is used.

License information
AnyConnect client licenses allow the use of AnyConnect desktop clients in addition to any of the available AnyConnect mobile clients. you will need
Client A license to download and use the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. A client license enables VPN functionality and is sold in bundles of 25 from partners such as CDW or through the purchase of your corporate device.

Step 1
Open a web browser and go to the Cisco Software Downloads webpage.
Step 2
In the search bar, start typing “Anyconnect” and the options will appear. Choose AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v4.x.
Step 3
Download the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. Most users will choose a file AnyConnect Pre-Deployment Package (Linux 64-bit) Selection.
The images in this article are for AnyConnect v4.9.x, which was the latest version at the time of writing this document.
If you purchased a license and are unable to download AnyConnect, call +1919-993-2724. Select option 2. You will need to know your Cisco ID (which you use to sign in to Cisco.com) and the sales order number when you call. They will correct this situation.
Step 4
Open Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard. To go to the folder where you downloaded the AnyConnect client package, use the command, “CD Directory nameFor more information on the “cd” command, click here.
In this example, the file is placed on the desktop.
The guide may vary depending on where you download the AnyConnect file. For long file or path names, start typing a few characters and hit the tab key on your keyboard. The file name will be filled in automatically. If it does not happen even after pressing the tab twice, this indicates that you need to type more unique characters. Alternately, you can use the “ls” command to list the files in your current directory.
Fifth step
The initial download is a tarball archive (several files combined into one), which must be extracted. it’s upxvf . flew File nameIt will extract the contents to the same directory as the raw file.

Once the folder is extracted, use the command “CD Directory nameagain to navigate to the folder.

After going to the main folder,CDin the vpn subfolder.

To run the AnyConnect installer, type ‘sudo ./vpn_install.shThis will start the installation process with superuser permissions.

Step 9
Accept the terms in the license agreement to complete the installation by writing “y“.
AnyConnect installation should complete, and the Terminal window can be closed.
Using AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v4.9.x
Step 1
To access the Anyconnect app, open Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on your keyboard. use the command, “/opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin/vpnui”.
/ opt / cisco / anyconnect / bin / vpnui
If you encounter any errors through Terminal, you can access the application from the list of applications as shown below.
To access the list of applications using the user interface (UI), tap the start icon (it appears as nine dots in the lower left corner). Choose Anyconnect app.
Alternatively, press Super + A (the Super key is the windows icon key) on your keyboard to bring up the search bar. Start typing “Anyconnect” and the app will appear.
Step 2
Click the Anyconnect app.
Step 3
Enter the IP address or hostname of the server you want followed by the port number.
For the RV340 family, the default port number is 8443.
Step 4
Some connections may not be secure with a trusted SSL certificate. By default, the AnyConnect client blocks attempts to connect to these servers.
Deselect Prevent connections to untrusted servers To connect to these servers.
AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client v4.9.x is now uninstalled
Step 1
Using Terminal, navigate to the folder containing the uninstall script with a file “CD”
ordering.
In the default installation, these files will be placed in / opt / cisco / anyconnect / bin /.
Step 2
To run the Anyconnect uninstall script, enter “sudo ./vpn_uninstall.sh”
This will start the uninstall process with superuser permissions. For more information about the sudo command, click here.
Step 3
At the command prompt, enter File sudo password and the client software will complete the uninstall process.
