Dollywood’s opening day for the 2021 season will be March 13th from 10 am – 7 pm. While their opening day hardly ever changes once announced, we still always recommend to check with Dollywood before you make your vacation plans and reservations just in case!.
Dollywood will reopen in the spring for their 2021 season on Saturday, March 13. Capacity will remain limited as it was in 2020. Reservations are recommended for all season passholders who wish to guarantee their spot on a specific day. You can make a reservation up to 45 days before your visit on the Dollywood website.
When does Dollywood open? Dollywood will officially open on March 13, 2021 and will stay open until January 2, 2022. Dollywood is not open every single day during 2021. Dollywood is open from March to January, that is about mid March to the day after New Year’s. But check our their schedule for more detailed operating hours. For example, just because they’re “open” in May doesn’t mean they’ll be operating the day you want to go. The best deal hands down is the season pass.

Dollywood’s hours extend beyond just “9 to 5.” The theme park is open mid-March to early January each year; hours vary but usually run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. I’ve found the best times to go, if you have flexibility, are early June or at the end of August to soak up.
Dollywood has a Safety Team who monitors radar at all times when the park is open. When there is lighting within a certain geographical radius of the park, rides will shut down. Twenty minutes after the last lightning strike, the operating team will initiate another test ride cycle before re-opening the ride.
