This article provides some troubleshooting tips for the GlobalProtect client installed on a Windows 10 device. Below is a list of some known issues.

Problem: The call button is frozen

When you click a file Connection Button, it looks like it’s frozen.

  1. Click on gear settings located in the upper right part of the GlobalProtect window
  2. click Settings
  3. click and delete vpn.dartmouth.edu . portal address
  4. click Add And type vpn.dartmouth.edu in the gateway address field

Problem: “It’s still connected”

When you click a file Connection button, the GlobalProtect client is stuck in a loop that says “Connect still”.

  1. Click the Windows icon at the bottom left of your screen
  2. Type Add or remove the program and press Enter
  3. Scroll down and tap Global Protect
  4. click Modification

Windows 7

  1. Click the Windows icon at the bottom left of your screen
  2. Type Uninstall a program and press Enter
  3. Scroll down and right-click on Global Protect
  4. Choose fix

Problem: Unable to access the secure server

When connecting to GlobalProtect, some users who accessed the secure servers when using f5 vpn, will not be able to access those servers anymore.

SAML problem in CAS login system. Only the first letter of the NetID is chosen so that users are placed in a public VPN group.

Precision

  1. Click on gear settings located in the upper right part of the GlobalProtect window
  2. click Settings
  3. In the general tab, click Exit
  4. clean the Cookies / Cache from Internet Explorer.
  5. Close GlobalProtect and restart

Problem: Script error

When I connect my NetID and password, I receive a script error popup

This issue applies to Windows 7 users who have the GlobalProtect VPN client installed on their devices and are running a version of Internet Explorer earlier than IE11.

a reason

Uses GlobalProtect Internet Explorer to pull up the CAS login screen. This login screen is only compatible with IE11. If users are using an older version, they will receive script error until they upgrade.

  1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer-11-for-windows-7-details.aspx
  2. click change systems
  3. Loading Internet Explorer 11 (64-bit)

Precision

  1. to open internet browser.
  2. Click on Come on in the upper-right corner of the window.
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. go to protection Unpaid invoice.
  5. Choose Reset all zones to default level.
    1. If you set custom level settings and don’t want to reset them all, the setting to enable is Custom Level > Scripting > Active Scripting.
  6. click Progressing.
