Consumers – TG862G/NA: VPN Passthrough Setup

In order to connect to a VPN from a VPN client connected to the TG862, the VPN traffic must be allowed to pass through the TG862 in order to establish the VPN connection. By default, VPN passthrough is enabled. This document describes how to allow IPsec VPN, PPTP VPN, or L2TP VPN traffic to pass through TG862 to the VPN client.
To enable VPN passthrough

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address box, and hit the Enter key. The login page appears.
note: By default, the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

On the login page:
a. Enter the administrator in user name field.
NS. Enter the password in the file password field.
NS. Click the login button. The System basic setup The page appears. -
In the top menu, click on the Firewall tab. The firewall settings The page appears.

On the firewall settings page:
a. Activate IPsec Pass Select the check box if you want to connect to an IPsec client.
NS. Enable PPTP Passthrough – Select the check box if you want to connect to the PPTP client.
NS. L2TP Pass Activation – Select the check box if you want to connect to the L2TP client.note: No restart is required for these settings to take effect.
