Download, install and connect Mobile VPN with SSL Client

Mobile VPN with SSL software allows users to connect, disconnect, and collect more information about the connection and in and out of the client. Mobile VPN with SSL Client adds an icon to the system tray on Windows, or an icon in the menu bar on macOS. You can use this code to control the client software.
To use Mobile VPN with SSL, you must:
- Check system requirements
- Download the client software
- Install the client software
- Connect to your own network
WatchGuard Mobile VPN with SSL Client v11.10.4 or higher is a 64-bit application.
If you are unable to connect to Firebox, or cannot download the installer from Firebox, you can manually distribute and install Mobile VPN using SSL client software and configuration file.

TLS requirements
Firebox and SSL VPN clients negotiate which TLS version to use for tunnel security. In Fireware v12.5.4 or higher, the minimum acceptable TLS version is TLS 1.2, which means that SSL VPN clients must use TLS 1.2 or higher to connect to Firebox.
Windows requirements
To upgrade Mobile VPN with SSL Windows Client, you must have administrator privileges.
- If a minor version update is available, but you cannot update the client version, you can still connect to the VPN tunnel.
- If a major version update is available, but you cannot update the client version, you cannot connect to the VPN tunnel.
In Fireware v12.5.3 or higher, if the client automatically detects that an upgrade is available, but you do not have administrator privileges, a message appears telling you to contact your system administrator for assistance. If a minor version update is available, you can select a file Do not show this message again check box. This check box does not appear if a major version update is available.
In Fireware v12.5.2 or lower, if the client automatically detects that an upgrade is available, a message appears asking you to upgrade. However, if you do not have administrator privileges, you cannot upgrade the client.
macOS requirements
To install Mobile VPN with SSL Client on macOS, you must have administrator privileges.
Download the client software
You can download the client from the WatchGuard Software Downloads page or from Firebox. If your Firebox is cloud managed, you can download the client from WatchGuard Cloud.
In Fireware v12.5.5 or higher, your web browser must support TLS 1.2 or higher to download the client from Firebox.
In Fireware v12.7 or higher, you can configure Mobile VPN with SSL to use AuthPoint as the authentication server. AuthPoint is WatchGuard’s cloud-based multi-factor authentication solution. If you configure your Mobile VPN with SSL to use AuthPoint, users can authenticate through AuthPoint to sign in to the Mobile VPN with the SSL Software Downloads page. To download the client from the Software Downloads page:
- Go to the Software Downloads page.
- Do one of the following:
- From Choose a device From the drop-down list, select your Firebox device model.
- In the text box, type the first four digits of your Firebox serial number.
- In the WatchGuard Mobile VPN with SSL section, click the Mobile VPN with SSL link for Windows or the Mobile VPN with SSL link for macOS.
The installation file is downloaded to your computer.
To download the client from Firebox:
- Authenticate to Firebox using an HTTPS connection via the port specified by your administrator. The default port is 443.

The authentication web page appears.

- If Mobile VPN with SSL is configured to use more than one authentication method, select the authentication server from the file specialization Drop list.
The Mobile VPN with SSL download page appears.
- tap on Loading The correct installer button for your operating system: Windows (WG-MVPN-SSL.exe) or macOS (WG-MVPN-SSL.dmg).
- Save the file to your computer.

In Fireware v12.5.4 or higher, you can disable the software downloads page hosted by Firebox. If you disable this page, users will not be able to download Mobile VPN with Firebox SSL client. Users can download the client from the WatchGuard website, or you can distribute the client manually to your users. For more information, see Planning your mobile VPN with an SSL configuration.
Install the client software
To install the client in Windows:
- Double click WG-MVPN-SSL.exe file.
The Mobile VPN Setup Wizard starts with the SSL client. - Accept the default settings on each screen of the wizard.
- (Optional) To add a desktop icon or a quick launch icon, select the check box in the wizard corresponding to the option.
- Quit and exit the processor.
To install the client in macOS:
- Make sure that the file System Preferences > Security & Privacy The settings on your Mac allow apps downloaded from Mac App Store and select developers. This is the default setting.
- Double click WG-MVPN-SSL.dmg.
A folder called WatchGuard Mobile VPN is created on your desktop. - In WatchGuard Mobile VPN storage, double-click WatchGuard Mobile VPN with SSL Installer <الإصدار> .mpkg.
The client installer starts. - Accept the default settings on each installer screen.
- Exit the installer and exit it.
After downloading and installing the client software, the Mobile VPN client software automatically connects to the Firebox. Every time you connect to Firebox, the client software checks if any configuration updates are available.

Connect to your own network
Select Client Connection Settings
After starting Mobile VPN with SSL client, to start VPN connection, you have to select authentication server and user account credentials. Mobile VPN with SSL does not support single sign-on (SSO).
the server It is the IP address of the primary external interface of Firebox, or the FQDN that resolves to that IP address. If Mobile VPN with SSL on Firebox is configured to use a port other than the default port 443, in server In the text box, you must type the IP address or FQDN followed by a colon and the port number. For example, if a Mobile VPN with SSL is configured to use port 444, and the primary external IP address is 203.0.113.2, then the server is 203.0.113.2:444.
