Fix when GlobalProtect VPN for Windows gets stuck in ‘connected’ state

If GlobalProtect is stuck in a “connected” state when clicked ConnectionIf the log file shows error “10022”, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the client software.
Collect a GlobalProtect . file
- From the system tray, click Global Protect to open it.
- At the top right, click the icon and select Settings > Troubleshoot.
- click Record collection.
- Once you have finished saving the file, click Open the folder
- In the log folder, open the file Bangba Records in a text editor.
- Use ctrl-F to search 10022.
- If an error is found that states Cannot connect to the service, error: 10022Uninstall and reinstall the GlobalProtect client.
- If no such error is found, contact Consultant@northwestern.edu.
Uninstall GlobalProtect
- go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program
- You find Global Protect and click uninstall
Download and set up GlobalProtect
- In your web browser, go to https://vpn-connect.northwestern.edu.
- When prompted, enter your NetID and password, and authenticate with Duo.
- At the top of the screen, tap GlobalProtect Agent.
- click Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect Agent.
- Open the downloaded GlobalProtect app. When prompted for the gate address, enter vpn-connect.northwestern.edu.
- When prompted, enter your NetID password and NetID, then confirm your identity using Duo multi-factor authentication. You will then be connected to GlobalProtect.
