How to manually setup VPN on Samsung phone
As noted at the beginning of this post, there is another way – a manual method – to set up a VPN on your Samsung phone, but it’s longer and more complicated than using something like NordVPN. It looks a little something like this…
Add a new VPN connection:
- Tap the Home icon, tap Menu, then tap Settings
- Click Wireless & Networks
- Click on VPN Settings
- Click Add VPN
- Select the type of VPN to add (PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN, L2TP/IPsec CRT VPN)
- Fill in the VPN details like VPN name, VPN server, etc. (Required settings will depend on the specific VPN type)
Connect to VPN:
- Tap the Home icon, tap Menu, then tap Settings
- Click Wireless & Networks
- Click on VPN Settings
- The VPN connections you added are now listed
- Click on the VPN you want to connect to
- A dialog will open asking for your credentials, enter them and touch Connect
