👨‍💻

  • Setting up your LG Smart TV with webOS is easier and more fun than ever with Bean Bird.

  • The star of these graphics is colorful and simple to understand.

  • When you turn on the TV for the first time, it will wake up immediately and you will see that it is eager to help.

  • Using your magic remote, click start to start setting up your TV.

  • First, where are you? This will determine the language, location, and time zone of the TV.

  • Click on the appropriate answer.

  • Bearing in mind that the time zone is regulated by a large city in each region.

  • When you have answered all three, click OK and you will see this confirmation screen.

  • Next, the environment is TV Homepage or a store use?

  • Click the appropriate selection.

  • Keep in mind that the TV defaults to home.

  • If you’re in a hurry, you can click “Exit first” which automatically sets the remaining options to default settings, but to fully configure your Smart TV, you’ll need to complete a few more steps.

  • So click OK, and now it’s time to go online.

  • You need to select either wired Internet, in which case you will be invited to connect an Ethernet cable, or wireless, after which you will be asked to select your network from those that are automatically detected and listed here and then enter the password if necessary.

  • Along the way during setup, you’ll also see occasional popups like this one that helps address FAQs.

  • The little popups on the right will also save your status along the way.

  • You also have the option to skip this step but when you are done establishing the connection click OK and you will see this happy confirmation screen.

  • The next screen is a legal notice.

  • Click Next when you are ready to continue.

  • User Agreements will appear for your reading pleasure and you have the option to either accept now or revisit later.

  • Now let’s get ready to watch TV.

  • Your LG Smart TV will ask how you got TV service.

  • So click on that question, and then click on the option that best describes your setup.

  • Select this first option if you are using a cable or satellite decoder.

  • The second, if you connect the cable or satellite feed from the wall directly to the TV.

  • Third if you are using an over-the-air antenna, or tap I don’t have TV service if it’s not relevant.

  • Finally, enter your zip code to speed up the configuration of your own service, then click OK and you will be there.

  • If you are using a separate decoder, you will be taken to the hardware connector.

  • This first screen explains the following. Click Next to get started. Then on the next screen, we choose the input to which the decoder is connected.

  • If it’s on, and you’re receiving a signal, you’ll see live TV playing in this window in the middle of the screen.

  • Click “Next”, on this screen we start setting up the general control so that you only need to use the magic remote control. Pay attention to these helpful tips. Where to place the decoder making sure that there are no obstructions, click Next.

  • Here you notice your choice of service, so choose the correct one from those available for your location. Click {Next.

  • Then select the manufacturer of the receiver from the list. Click next, and you can test to see if your magic remote is set up properly now.

  • By switching the channel, entering a number, or calling the set-top box menu.

  • If you respond, great. If not, switch the remote type by clicking the left or right arrow and try again until it works and then click Next.

  • And on the next screen, you can confirm your setup. Happy? Click next and enjoy live TV on LG TV using only your magic remote.

  • If you instead connect a cable, satellite feed, or live antenna to watch TV, you will also need to complete the automatic channel tuning setup.

  • Find your local channels with the help of your zip code again.

  • Again, some of these steps allow you to skip forward by clicking at the bottom of the screen here, or back to the previous screen by clicking at the top.

  • Not all Smart TV features will be available to you until you complete all the steps correctly.

  • You will also need to make sure you have the latest firmware installed as we cover firmware updates in another video but for now sit back and get ready to enjoy your new LG Smart TV with webOS.
