Part 1: How to Connect VPN on Windows 7?
There are plenty of third-party VPN software for Windows 7 that you can use easily. Though, if you want, you can also use the original VPN Windows 7 solution for free. Just like other versions of Windows, 7 also provides a seamless way to set up a VPN manually. The solution may not be as secure as a Windows 7 VPN client, but it will definitely meet your basic needs. You can learn how to setup VPN Windows 7 for free manually by following these steps:
1. First, go to the start menu of your system and search for âVPNâ. You will automatically get the option to set up a virtual private network (VPN) connection. Though, you can also access this wizard from Control Panel > Network Settings.
2. This will launch a new VPN setup wizard. First, you need to provide an internet address to connect to. This will also be an IP address or a web address. Also, you can give it a destination name. While the destination name can be anything, you must be specific in the VPN address.
3. In the next window, you have to provide the username and password for your VPN connection. This will be served by the Windows 7 VPN server you are using. You can also provide an optional domain name before clicking the Connect button.
4. Once you click the Connect button, Windows will automatically start connecting your system to the selected VPN server.
5. Once the VPN Windows 7 is connected, you can view it from the network options available on the taskbar. From here, you can unplug it as well.
6. If you want to permanently delete the VPN, go to Network Connections, select the VPN and click the Delete button.
