Oftentimes, login issues are simply due to incorrect credentials being used for the area you are trying to login to. Listed below are the different types of login information for use with our Service, and where each may be used.
username and password “p”
Example: p1234567
This is the default username you will receive with your Private Internet Access account. It is used to log into the client control panel, it is also used to log into our VPN app, as well as any type of connection based on OpenVPN. It is also used in iOS and Android apps.
You can change the password for this set of credentials, via the following link here, or directly via the client control panel, as described above.
“x-” Username and Password
For example: x-1234567
This is a unique username and password for use with our SOCKS5 proxy service. This set of credentials must be created manually, and this can be done via the client control panel. The following guide “How to Create Proxy Credentials” shows how to do this with step-by-step instructions. You can also find specific step-by-step guides on how to set up each agent for each operating system here.
The password for this set of credentials can be changed at any time by logging into the client control panel and clicking on the βRe-createβ button.
Note: There is a known issue on iOS that causes data being copied/pasted during entry to become corrupted. To make sure that you can sign in successfully on any iOS setting, please carefully type your username and password manually.
