Make sure your router is turned on and you are within range

If you’re too far from a Wi-Fi router, you can’t get a signal, so make sure you’re within range.

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on and you can see your network

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Click on the name of your Wi-Fi network to join. A blue check mark next to the network name means you are connected.

If you see Auto-join is disabled under the Wi-Fi network name, tap Turn on Auto-join.

If prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password

Check for problems with your Wi-Fi network

If iOS detects a problem with your Wi-Fi connection, you may see a Wi-Fi recommendation under the name of the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to. For example, you might see the alert “No internet connection.” For more information, tap on Wi-Fi.

Check cables and connections

If you still can’t connect to your network or get online, make sure your router is plugged into your modem and turned on.

Restart

Try restarting your iOS device. Here’s how to restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Then restart your router, then restart your cable or DSL modem. To restart your router or modem, unplug it, then plug it back in.

After restarting each device, check if the issue is resolved.

Still can’t connect?

Reset network settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks, passwords, cellular settings, VPN and APN settings you used before.
