iOS 15 Privacy Settings You Should Change Now

Apple’s iOS 15 has dropped. The latest version of the mobile operating system and its iPad equivalent, iOS 15.5, is rolling out worldwide. Apple made the download available after announcing the iPhone 13 at its annual hardware event last week.
Even before its release, iOS 15 proved controversial. Apple’s child safety tools were supposed to be included in this update, but they have been paused indefinitely after a monitoring backlash. It’s the second year in a row that it’s missing a major new feature with the release of the new version of iOS.
Apple’s iOS 14 app tracking controls – which prevent advertisers from tracking you through your phone – have been delayed until May 2021 and included in iOS 14.5 after Facebook and other advertising companies complained about their impact. But complaints did not prevent Apple from introducing the changes.
Aside from the child safety tools, there are still plenty of new privacy and security features built into iOS 15. As with any new software update, the new system should be installed as soon as possible. Updates often include much more than new features, and often squash new bugs and security holes—the last-minute iOS 14.8 update, released before Apple’s iPhone event, shows how important it is to install new software.
While Apple has made iOS 15 available for download, it often takes a while for it to roll out worldwide, which means that it may take a little longer to reach some people than others. Here’s what you need to change when installing the update on your phone.
Prevent email tracking
In iOS 14, Apple cleaned up app tracking. This time around, hidden hidden trackers are targeted in the emails you send. These trackers often come in the form of pixels inserted into the body, header, or footer of email messages that send information about you to the sender of the email.

This gives you the ability to check, for example, if the app really needs to use your microphone to work. Hide your IP address
In September 2017, Apple introduced the Safari web browser Smart Tracking Prevention feature as part of iOS 11. ITP is Safari’s way to block online trackers that follow you across the web while you browse — it uses Apple’s machine learning to find domains that track you browsing and then remove data stored on people’s phones.
Technology has evolved in the past four years and with iOS 15, Apple is giving the option to hide your IP address from trackers. This means that websites cannot convert your IP address into an identifier, which they can then use to associate all of your browsing. To turn on IP address masking, go to SettingsAnd SafariAnd Hide IP Then turn on the switch for Trackers and Websites.
Use the Apple Authenticator
One of the biggest things you can do to protect yourself from hacking is to turn on two-factor authentication for all of your online accounts. Often with two-factor authentication, you’ll have to enter a code – often generated by an app or sent via SMS – along with your password to access your account.
Codes sent via SMS are not as secure as those generated by the app. With iOS 15, Apple brings its own authenticator — which means you don’t have to use an app from another company. This way, you can, if you prefer, lock yourself inside the Apple ecosystem. You can set up verification codes in . format SettingsAnd passwords. They can then autofill when you sign in to a site using Safari.
Protect your browsing with private paging
