What is a VPN router and how does it work?

If your router is not currently compatible with the VPN software, but is compatible with the VPN firmware, you will need to update it. This is a longer process that depends on the type of router in question.
Flashing your router manually with a new firmware will enable you to install the VPN software of your choice. This can save you money, but it requires a little technical knowledge.
